Confucius 孔子) is a 2010 Chinese biographical drama film written and directed by Hu Mei, starring Chow Yun-fat as the titular Chinese philosopher.

The film was scheduled to screen later in 2009 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, as well as the 2,560th birthday of Confucius himself.

The film begins with Confucius as an old man, thinking back. Then we see him in his early 50s, being promoted from Mayor to Minister for Law in his home state of Lu. He is confronted with ethical issues after saving a slave-boy who was due to be buried alive with his former master who has just died. There are a lot of complex politics and war, ending with Confucius being rejected and becoming a wandering scholar. After many hardships and losses, he is invited back as an old man. We see him finally preparing the Spring and Autumn Annals, expecting that this book will determine his future influence.

Many great leaders like Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan study his work and became legendary leaders. Many corporate leaders paid thousands of dollars to attend courses to learn Sun Zi secrets.

a Enemy here refers to not your enemy but your team that you are leading and managing. 
b. Take the enemy state whole and intact means you must lead your team wholly with not just their bodies, but also their minds, hearts and spirits. 
c. Never destroy the bodies, minds, hearts and spirits of your team. So you cannot over-work them for you will be destroying their bodies and minds. You also cannot break their hearts by not delivering on your promises and make them give up on you. Finally, you may destroy their spirits when you unknowingly make them a fool in front of others.
d. To win without fighting in leadership is to lead without your team knowing that you are leading them. A leader is at his best when people barely knows he exists, when the work is done, the team will say: we did it ourselves. This is because the leader has empowered the team so much and they have become so competent that they are mini leaders themselves, thus the leader is leading without actually leading them. This must be the highest form of leadership. Lead without Leading. 
e. If you too want to be a great leader, learn from the master.

7 Lessons from Ancient Asian Philisophy

1. You will learn lessons. Life is a constant learning experience, there are no failures or success, only lessons

2. A lesson is repeated until it is learnt. A problem that continues is a lesson that we haven't learnt yet. So to blame others for your misfortunes is not taking lesson for yourself.  Because of this blame, you will continue to make the same mistakes, abeit in different situations. You will only stop making mistakes when you have learnt the lesson. 

3. Others are merely mirrors of you. What we dislike in others we also have that same dislike for ourselves. 

4. What you make of your life is up to you. You yourself must walk the path.  Others can guide or help you, but they cannot do it for you. 

5. The answers lie inside. No matter what people tell you, happiness can only come from inside you. In order to find true inner peace, you need to trust yourself and accept yourself, then you can find the answers within you and not keep on looking outside for answers.

6. There's always something that we can achieve to achieve success that we deserve.  We al have potential and every single human is unique. There is no need to compare and there's always something you can succeed at. The trick is not to give up.

7. There is a difference between your self worth and your self esteem. Self worth is what you think you are worth, and self esteem is what you think of youself. Most people have high self esteem but low self worth. For example, they are happy when people praise them, but got offended with criticisms. This is a clear sign of lack of self worth.

How to Wake People Up


US Coach Dan Millman was the 1966 Olympics gold medal winner for gymnastics.  He went through many ups and downs in his life, including breaking his leg and two near-death accidents. Since 1980, Dan dedicated his life to inspire others based on what he learned from gurus from China and India

Dan wrote 9 books, including the best-seller, "Way of the Peaceful Warrior" in 1985. This book has since been turned into a movie called "Peaceful Warrior" (2005). 

In the movie "Peaceful Warrior", Dan Millman said that most people live their entire lives without being awake. We thus need to 'wake people up' if we want to help people break free from their own self-limiting beliefs and get closer to their potential. 

This course, which we have been conducting since 2008, was based on the strategies and tactics in Dan's work. It answers many questions that people face at work: how to motivate people other than money, how to persevere in trying times and how to make everyone strongly and united.

4 Factors that Drive China's Growth Today

To make sense of China’s next decade, it is critical to grasp that there is no single driver of the nation’s future. Instead, four very different drivers are pushing the country forward at once, all powerful, and all interacting with each other in unanticipated ways.
The first driver is an aspect of the country’s economy and culture that I call “Open China.” The emerging potential of China’s consumer markets is well known to outside producers, many of which, like General Motors, have already come to depend on these markets for their profitability. Unlike other leading economies in Asia, including Japan and South Korea, China began opening its markets to foreign companies at the very start of its economic reforms and it has opened them ever wider ever since.
At the same time, the Chinese people have rapidly advanced as consumers; the wealth created by China’s growth has created a substantial middle class. Putting a precise number on the size of this segment of the population remains tricky, but however large it is, China’s current middle class is a mere fraction of what it will become as hundreds of millions more people join its ranks during the next decade.
After this honeymoon phase, the Chinese mass market will morph into a vast, highly differentiated and sophisticated multi-tiered consumer economy capable of driving growth for Chinese and global businesses alike. This growth trajectory represents a powerful short-term opportunity for major non-Chinese companies (for example, in helping to develop the retail sector of this nation) and a daunting long-term challenge in terms of maintaining market share.
The second driver is “Competitive China.” Hundreds of thousands of new Chinese companies have made this country the world’s most competitive business environment. Indeed, China is now the world’s largest and fastest-growing source of entrepreneurial start-ups. It is also an incubator for large businesses, both foreign and home-grown. Nearly 300,000 foreign-invested businesses have been established in China, vying to tap into the country’s manufacturing base and reach its consumer and business markets.
The third driving force is “Official China”: the shifting direction and role of the government and Communist Party. The government has managed the liberalization of many parts of the economy, but it has maintained control over its strategic heights by retaining ownership of the core group of state-owned enterprises in the finance, communications, energy, resources and media sectors.
Contrary to the hopes of many foreign investors, Official China has no intention of letting go of these companies, and it will maintain tight control over those parts of the economy that it wishes to manage. But as it faces the challenges of internal complexity and external engagement, it will evolve toward a nondemocratic but market-driven form of rule that, arguably, has never been seen on the world stage before.
The fourth driving force is the existence of “One World” with which China, like all other countries, is interdependent as never before. Globally connected power, communications and transportation links now exist almost everywhere in China.
The nature of “one world” and the open, entrepreneurial qualities of China will reinforce each other in unexpected ways. Goods developed there will be marketed to the rest of the world. Chinese companies, meanwhile, will increasingly go abroad to find new sources of technology and business skills, particularly for innovation, brand building and access to international finance.

Doing Business in China: Myths and Truths

Many people have got the following facts wrong about doing business in China:

1. Doing Business in China is NOT about Doing Business with the Chinese Only
This is because there are many non-China Chinese and many non-Chinese especially in major cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. 

2. Doing Business in China is NOT about Doing Business with the China Government or Communists
This is because there are many private sector businesses in China that one can do business with.  Also, although the Communist Party of China governs China, there is very little communist-type of governance in business as the whole economy has been run like capitalist system since 1979

3. It is hard to take out money made from doing business in China. There is no restriction on the amount of money that foreigners can take out from China, except of the limit of 20,000 RMB cash at the airports. Almost every bank in the world has branches in China, so you can freely transfer money in and out of China as long as you have a business. 

4. One needs to bribe people to get things done in China
This is definitely not the case, as many things are done with proper governance system and rules. In fact giving bribes is a crime for everyone in China

5. Doing business in China is about doing business in major cities only
Actually there are more than 600 cities and several hundreds of counties in China. One can do business with many cities that even the local Chinese have not heard of. With the Belt Road Initiative (or One Belt One Road initiative), one can simply do business in China by not travelling to China at all, but to the many countries that are linked in the Belt Road Initiative. A good example is Pakistan. There are more Chinese contractors in Pakistan and one can easily sell to these Pakistanis without doing business with any Chinese cities! 6. Tipping is Not allowed. There is no habit of tipping but tipping is not illegal in China

7. You cannot drink except certain hours.  Actually there is no legal drinking age in China. Also, many places have no limit on drinking hours!

The BMW Way to Closing All Sales

In our sales training in Asia including Limitless Selling, Successful Sales Strategies and How to Close Every Sale, we teach the following simple 3-steps BMW approach to closing all sales:

Step 1 B: Buy from Your Prospects

Yes, don't sell anything to your prospects and instead buy from them.  Buying doesn't mean you must buy like what you do in a retail shop, buy means buy whatever they are doing now.  If they are now in the process of upgrading their computer system, you need to buy their work by saying that you will be happy to pay them lots of money if you were their customer

Once you bought from your prospects, you become their customer and you are no longer their vendor! We know people treat customers better than they treat vendors.  From now on you gain their trust and respect for you are one that no just care for them but take action on the people you care.

Step 2 M: Make them Money

After you have bought from your prospect, you have to make them money. Here you offer them ideas, strategies and tactics that allow them to make limitless money on what they have now.

Following our above example of your prospect in the process of upgrading his computer system, you offer them ideas, strategies and tactics that make them limitless money, like how they can do more with less with the new system, how they can avoid being hacked by installing firewalls and how to lock their computers with physical locks.

Step 3: Wait for them to Ask You Questions

By now your prospect will be so elated with you for you have not just bought something from them, you have also given them (without condition and monetary consideration) ideas on how to make money with what they have.

They will simply ask you questions, and your job is just to answer their questions.  Once you answe their questions, you have the sale!  Typically your prospects will ask you one or more of these questions: you seem to know a lot, what do you do?  You don't come all the way to offer free consulting, how can I help you?  Did your company send you here with a purpose?  What is it that you have that I can take a look?
